this is our first batch of chickens- almost ready to butcher. dave did whack 10 the other day, but there are still well over 20 to go. our friend designed this chicken tractor. it is bottomless, and every day dave and the boys move it, so the chickens can have fresh grass to eat.
momma bunny has 5 baby bunnies, and A likes to visit them, and give them grass. we had rabbit stew the other night, and it wasn't as bad as i thought it would be. if you have strenuous objections to us eating these cute, furry little things, you could always buy one as a pet. they're only $5!
the garden is growing nicely, as well, and i'm impressed that it's not over run with weeds! we just have tomatoes, potatoes, peppers, cucumbers, corn and some squash. i'm looking forward to fresh potatoes. that's my favorite thing from the garden- from the dirt to the pot to the plate in 12 minutes! mmmm...
here A is watching over daddy as he plants beans. we already had planted half a row, but the deer and rabbits were in fierce competition to see who could eat the most. we lost. so now we have planted tons more beans. maybe we'll actually get to harvest and eat some of these!
