with a suitcase of 3" squares, and lots of low volume squares, I decided to jump on the Plus bandwagon, and make a Low Volume Plus quilt. Can I just say: I lovelovelove this quilt. I plan on keeping it for myself- probably for my bed. (one day my room will be done: drywalled, finished, and even a master bathroom!)
one especially magical thing about the Low Volume Plus quilt is that it was started and completed in 2016. how's that for amazing? it's a whopper of a quilt, finishing at 100" X 110".
and guess what? another magical, amazing thing happened with my RSC16 piecing: I finished TWO quilts (so far) this year. This quilt, Simply Woven, was started in January 2016. I pieced the blocks month by month, as Angie called the colors, using both the main color, and the accent color. (a new bonus for RSC16). after I reached august, I just went ahead and finished the quilt, since I didn't want all the last color ribbons in the blocks to be the same colors. This quilt has been donated to one of the Mennonite Relief Auctions (this particular one is in Texas). Simply Woven finished at 95" X 95".
if you want to make your own Simply Woven quilt, the pattern can be found here. as long as you're careful and accurate in your cutting and piecing, you should be fine...
